Post-Summerween '26
A Spooky Amuse-Bouche
Another Summerween has come and gone. In the holiday’s wake and the Practical Magic 2 trailer release, here’s a condensed list of halfway-to-Halloween decorations that caught my eye. Let me know if I missed any collections, and your expectations for PM2 in the comments below.
Michaels’ Bound By Magic Collection
Jumping on the 1990s whimsigoth bandwagon, Michaels actually created near-perfect replicas in its Bound By Magic collection. Brought me right back to browsing through my mother’s The Paragon catalogue. We never did place an order, though.
Moon & Sun Mirror
I would have tried to scry in this for hours before scaring myself.
Navy & Gold Moon & Sun Tabletop Cabinet
So many secret trinkets to put in this, it boggles the imagination.
Major Arcana Tarot Cards
How many baby witches will be born because of this abridged deck?
anthropologie’s Halloween Shop
Once again, anthro takes the Green Man cake this year. Though there are more repeats than I’d prefer, the collection expanded past decorations into functional household items. It’s cohesive, tasteful, and fun, as expected.
Astrological Trellis
Following the Star & Moon trend, this trellis would look well in the garden all year ‘round. Vines twisting around it, birds perching? Right out of the original Practical Magic. Untouchable.
Spooky Garden Ceramic Side Table
What a pleasant surprise! Though its price point is higher than anthro’s usual holiday fare, this side table/garden seat’s color scheme and pattern could easily fit into a library or sitting room. Extra points for the matching cotton blanket.
Marble Tombstone Place Card Holders
No notes. I’m so pleased that these will match my Tombstone Marble Serving Board from last year. Not to be used with the Vida Luster Stoneware Mug and Pasta Bowl.
Target’s Night of Halloween
It might be too early in the year to call it for sure, but Target’s current Halloween collection leaves much to be desired. The wooden Skeleton Nutcracker below is the best I found. Neon lights and the Beistle collection are still available.
Honorable Mention: The West Elm Frankenstein Collection
I don’t often pay much mind to West Elm. Their Halloween collection is decent but too cutesy for me, yet the Frankenstein Collection is creepily designed and reasonably priced. The Nose Vase and Ear Cup are particular favorites.
By the way, the Oddities Flea Market will return to Foolproof Brewing Company on October 31 for its first ever Halloween Market! We’re so excited to present new vendors, artists, and a costume contest. Mark your calendar, more info coming soon.
